Clean Cooking Program in Rural India
Clean Cooking Program in Rural India
The main purpose of the project is the distribution of fuel-efficient improved cook stoves (ICS) in the Indian states of Assam and Madhya Pradesh. The Improved cookstove stove distributed through this project has replaced the low-efficient traditional cookstove.Through this project, the distribution, and installation of high thermal efficient improved cook stoves (ICS) has been undertaken for households. The ICS burns wood more efficiently thereby improving thermal energy transfer to pots, hence saving fuel wood and greenhouse gases. Not only will this halt the rapidly progressing deforestation but will also reduce health hazards from indoor air (smoke) pollution and women and children will have to spend less time collecting firewood.
